As you can see in the photo, that's me with my two dogs. Yukon (left) is a German Shorthaired Pointer and Cinder (right) is an Australian Shepherd. I hunt pheasant with Yukon occasionally and he is one great bird dog (but otherwise super lazy)! He also helps me with classes from time to time. Cinder is my sassy, super smart, talkative, loving herding machine. I also have one cat, two tortoises, and I foster kittens from time to time and volunteer for Happy Endings No Kill Cat Shelter. My hobbies include photography, and different types of arts and crafts.
I started professionally training animals about 7 years ago. I am a member of the Force Free Trainers of Wisconsin, the Pet Professional Guild, and the Association of Professional Dog Trainers. I am also an evaluator for the American Kennel Club's Canine Good Citizen certification and a Be A Tree Presenter through Doggone Safe.
I have a laid back personality and take a non-judgemental and realistic approach to training. It is a fact that every person and animal learns differently, so I work with you and your pet to what learning style suits you the best. I teach with positive reinforcement and encourage clicker training while trying to be as force-free as possible. I can also work with behavior modification issues such as separation anxiety, barking, jumping, and shy and reactive dogs.
